From Selected Oak to Finished Holzer Floor
Every detail matters—from the natural oak surface to the final color and finished plank.
Holzer Floor follows a defined production process to check material selection, product specifications, color and surface finish before delivery. Each order is made to order and reviewed against the confirmed product requirements.
Raw Materials and Production Planning
Confirm the order, approved master color, plank style, dimensions, thickness and quantity. Check the availability and suitability of raw materials before production.
Quality focus: All departments work from the same confirmed order specifications. The production manager cross-checks key details.
Natural Oak Selection & Grading
Select and inspect the oak wear layer according to Holzer Floor's AB-grade standard, allowing the intended natural knots and grain character while checking for unacceptable defects.
Quality focus: Maintain the intended AB-grade appearance and separate pieces by handpick.
Prepare the Stone Core
Prepare the stone-core material according to the required product thickness and production specifications.
Quality focus: Check core thickness, dimensions, surface condition and suitability for bonding.
Pressing and Lamination
Bond the natural oak veneer to the stone core using the approved production process.
Quality focus: Check bonding, veneer position, surface flatness and visible defects. Identify delamination or bonding problems before proceeding.
Profiling: Tongue-and-Groove Joint Inspection
Machine the planks to the specified dimensions and profile, including the tongue-and-groove joints where applicable.
Quality focus: Check plank dimensions, joint profile, straightness and fit. Test two planks together, then several planks in a row, to confirm the joints engage properly, remain aligned and do not create unacceptable gaps, steps or uneven edges.
Sanding and Surface Preparation
Sand the oak surface to achieve the specified smooth or textured finish and prepare it for color application.
Quality focus: Check surface thickness uniformity, sanding marks, scratches, dents and visible veneer defects. Confirm the surface is suitable for finishing.
Color Application and Matching
Apply the specified color using the approved finishing formula and compare the finished color with the approved master color sample.
Quality focus: Review color tone, consistency and appearance under natural lighting. Check samples from different points in the production batch against the master reference. Record any approved variation or corrective action.
Protective Coating and Performance Tests
Apply the specified primer, base coats and protective UV top coats according to the approved finishing procedure. Allow the coating to cure as required before testing.
Quality focus: Check coating coverage, surface appearance and adhesion. Perform the approved scratch, coin, cutting and cross-cut tape adhesion tests.
Packing and Delivery
Pack approved flooring with suitable protection and identify the order, color, plank style and quantity.
Quality focus: Confirm the correct order is packed, protect finished surfaces and edges, and check packaging and delivery documentation before dispatch.
Important to Know Natural oak starts with different natural color tones, from darker to lighter. These tones remain visible after the UV color and surface treatment, so the final color will naturally vary from plank to plank.
